Position: Generative AI Engineer

GVR INFOTEK LLC is looking for a visionary Generative AI Engineer to join our innovative team for a 6-month+ contract engagement. This role is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be local to or willing to relocate to either Baton Rouge, Louisiana, or Lansing, Michigan. As the field of Artificial Intelligence continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we are seeking an engineer who is at the forefront of Large Language Model (LLM) integration and AI agent development. This is a PV W2 position, ideal for a technical expert looking to make a significant impact in the GenAI space.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python code tailored for Generative AI applications and services.
  • Architect and build sophisticated AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph to automate complex workflows.
  • Design and optimize prompt engineering strategies, including few-shot prompting and prompt-tuning, to maximize LLM performance.
  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to ground AI responses in proprietary data sources.
  • Integrate LLMs with external tools and APIs to create end-to-end GenAI workflows that solve real-world business problems.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to deploy AI models into production environments.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models, ensuring accuracy, safety, and ethical considerations are met.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research in NLP, Transformers, and Generative Modeling to keep our solutions competitive.

Required Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience in Python programming, with a focus on libraries used in AI and data science (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch, or TensorFlow).
  • Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT-4, Claude, or Llama, and their underlying architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with LangChain and LangGraph for building agentic workflows and managing LLM chains.
  • Proven ability to design and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using vector databases like Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate.
  • Strong background in prompt engineering and the ability to fine-tune prompts for specific tasks and domains.
  • Experience with API integration and building microservices to expose AI capabilities.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their respective AI/ML service offerings.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Location and Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work model, providing the flexibility of remote work while maintaining the collaborative benefits of in-person interaction in Baton Rouge, LA or Lansing, MI. Candidates must be local to these areas or fully committed to relocating. Both locations offer unique cultural and professional advantages. Baton Rouge is a center for technology and education in the South, while Lansing serves as a key hub for government and industry in the Midwest. This position requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-moving, research-oriented environment. As a Generative AI Engineer, you will be at the heart of our digital transformation, helping us leverage the power of AI to drive efficiency and innovation across the organization.

Special Requirements
