Role Overview
The Oracle CPQ Techno-Functional Consultant will be a pivotal figure in driving the end-to-end Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) transformation for a global leader in the Life Sciences sector. This role is specifically designed to support a complex product catalog encompassing laboratory instruments, reagents, and diagnostic standards. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical development in BigMachines Language (BML) and functional business process optimization. As a senior consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring that the CPQ platform is not only technically sound but also perfectly aligned with the intricate commercial needs of a global organization operating across dozens of jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Engineering: You will translate global commercial requirements into scalable CPQ configurations. This involves harmonizing sales workflows across more than 37 countries, ensuring a unified and efficient sales process that respects local market nuances while maintaining global standards.
- Technical Development: Design and maintain intricate configuration and constraint rules. You will utilize BigMachines Language (BML) and BMQL to build robust logic that handles complex product dependencies, ensuring that sales representatives can only configure valid and manufacturable product combinations.
- Pricing & Logic: Implementation of multi-tier pricing models, discount structures, and margin validations is critical. You will support diverse customer segments, including hospitals, biopharma companies, and research labs, each with their own unique pricing agreements and regulatory constraints.
- Document Generation: Develop and automate the creation of branded quote templates and contracts. This requires proficiency in Document Designer or BI Publisher to ensure professional, accurate, and legally compliant output for every transaction.
- Integrations: Lead the technical integration efforts between Oracle CPQ Cloud, Salesforce CRM, and various ERP systems like Oracle EBS or SAP. You will leverage REST/SOAP APIs and middleware such as Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to ensure seamless data flow throughout the Q2C lifecycle.
- Release Management: Manage the impact of Oracle CPQ quarterly updates. This includes performing comprehensive regression testing and sandbox validations to ensure zero disruption to commercial operations during platform upgrades.
Technical & Professional Qualifications
- Platform Expertise: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle CPQ Cloud (formerly BigMachines), with a deep understanding of both the functional and technical aspects of the platform.
- Scripting Proficiency: Advanced expertise in BML, JavaScript, CSS, and SQL/PL-SQL for data validation and custom logic implementation.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in Life Sciences or Medical Devices is highly preferred, with a specific focus on Quote-to-Order processes and regulatory compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $235,000 per year (Estimated)
