Position Overview
Valzo Soft Solutions is proud to partner with a premier client in the technology and healthcare sector to find a seasoned Data Scientist for a long-term contract engagement in Tampa, FL. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with a specific focus on healthcare data and analytics engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Data Analysis: Analyze large-scale, complex healthcare datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that can inform business strategy. You will use advanced statistical techniques to uncover hidden insights that drive value for the organization.
- Predictive Modeling: Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated predictive models to forecast patient outcomes, optimize resource allocation, and improve clinical efficiencies. This includes selecting the appropriate algorithms, tuning hyperparameters, and validating model performance.
- Analytics Engineering: Collaborate with data engineering teams to build robust data pipelines and ensure the integrity and accessibility of data for downstream analysis. You will help define data schemas and implement best practices for data modeling and transformation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with healthcare providers, administrators, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data science projects. You must be able to communicate complex findings in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
- Decision Support: Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership, helping to shape the future of healthcare delivery through evidence-based insights. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions and operational improvements.
Technical Skills and Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, or a related analytical field, with a strong emphasis on the healthcare sector.
- Strong background in Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering principles, including experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and advanced proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction and manipulation.
- Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, ICD-10) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for model deployment and scaling.
- Proven ability to manage long-term projects from conception to deployment in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- A Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science is highly preferred.
