Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Platform Engineer with over 10 years of experience to lead our infrastructure automation and cloud strategy. This is a Contract-to-Hire (CTH) position based 100% onsite in Westlake Village, CA, or Tampa, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing scalable and resilient infrastructure on AWS, with a specific focus on integrating Windows and Linux-based environments. This role requires a deep technical background in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipeline optimization, and cloud security.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain highly available AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.
- Manage and automate Windows Server configurations using Chef and tools like Chocolatey and Packer.
- Design and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for .NET applications.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across all deployment processes and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide DevOps expertise and resolve deployment bottlenecks.
- Monitor system health and performance using NewRelic, CloudWatch, and Prometheus.
- Develop and document DevOps standards to ensure consistency and scalability across the organization.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers within the platform team.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and implement proactive detection mechanisms.
Technical Depth and Innovation
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing our deployment ecosystem. You will be expected to stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures. Your expertise in scripting—specifically PowerShell, Python, and Ruby—will be utilized to create custom automation that bridges the gap between legacy systems and modern cloud services. A significant portion of this role involves optimizing AWS EC2 features, such as Autoscaling and WarmPools, to ensure cost-efficiency and performance. By implementing “Shift Left” security principles, you will ensure that our infrastructure is not only fast but also inherently secure from the initial design phase through to production.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 10 years of professional experience in IT, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in a DevOps or SRE role. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required. You must demonstrate extensive hands-on experience with AWS and a solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing. Experience with .NET application deployment in cloud environments is a major plus. Due to the nature of the client’s requirements, we are only considering local candidates who are eligible for in-person interviews in Westlake Village, CA.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
