Role Overview: Product Manager / Product Owner Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Manager to join our dynamic healthcare technology team in a fully remote capacity. This unique role requires a professional who can seamlessly navigate the intersection of high-level product strategy and tactical execution. As a PM/PO Hybrid, you will be responsible for defining the long-term vision of our healthcare products while simultaneously managing the day-to-day intricacies of the development backlog and user story creation. The ideal candidate will possess a rare blend of strategic foresight and operational excellence, ensuring that our product offerings not only meet current market demands but also anticipate future trends in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with organizational goals and market trends within the healthcare sector.
  • Act as the primary liaison between executive stakeholders and the engineering team, ensuring that business requirements are clearly translated into actionable technical tasks.
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritizing features and technical debt to maximize value delivery in every sprint.
  • Write detailed, high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria that provide clear direction to the development team.
  • Lead sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Engage with executive leadership to present product updates, strategy shifts, and performance metrics with exceptional clarity and presence.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience across all digital touchpoints.

Domain Expertise Requirements

  • Deep experience in the Healthcare Payor domain is mandatory for this position.
  • Proven track record of working with Member and Provider portals, understanding the specific needs and pain points of these user groups.
  • Extensive knowledge of Claims processing workflows and the regulatory environment surrounding healthcare data.
  • Ability to navigate complex healthcare ecosystems and integrate third-party solutions effectively.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7.

Technical Collaboration and Leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to ‘speak engineer’ and collaborate effectively with technical teams to solve complex architectural challenges.
  • Experience managing technical debt and balancing it against the delivery of new features.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to product management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in product management, specifically within the healthcare technology sector.
  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and data security standards in healthcare.

Special Requirements

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
