Role Overview: Lead Syniti Data Migration Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Syniti Data Migration Specialist for a critical long-term engagement in Lisle, IL. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our enterprise-level SAP S/4HANA transformation. As a lead, you will be the primary technical authority for data migration activities, utilizing the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP) to ensure the seamless transition of complex data sets from legacy environments into a modern SAP landscape. This position requires a deep understanding of data quality, governance, and the technical nuances of large-scale ETL processes.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Objectives
- Lead the end-to-end data migration lifecycle, from initial discovery and profiling to final load and post-migration reconciliation.
- Architect and execute complex data transformation rules within the Syniti platform to meet stringent SAP S/4HANA business requirements.
- Manage the extraction of data from diverse legacy systems, specifically focusing on PeopleSoft, BAAN, and Infor LN environments.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data stewards to define data cleansing rules and ensure high-fidelity data quality.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data mapping documentation, ensuring every field is accounted for and validated.
- Oversee mock load cycles and cutover activities, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing proactive solutions.
- Perform rigorous data profiling to identify anomalies, duplicates, and inconsistencies early in the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership to junior team members and offshore resources, ensuring adherence to best practices and project timelines.
- Coordinate with the SAP functional teams to align data migration strategies with business process requirements.
- Generate detailed status reports and dashboards for executive leadership, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in data management, with at least 4 years dedicated to SAP data migration.
- Proven expertise in the Syniti Knowledge Platform (SKP) or Advanced Data Migration (ADM) tools.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations and a strong grasp of SAP master data objects (Customer, Vendor, Material, etc.).
- Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and complex query development.
- Familiarity with legacy ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, BAAN, or Infor LN is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and the importance of data lineage.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data challenges into business-friendly language.
- Ability to work onsite in Lisle, IL, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
