Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Programmer Analyst with extensive .NET and Angular experience to join a high-impact development team in Lansing, MI. This role involves working in a hybrid waterfall/agile environment to implement user stories and technical requirements for the Long-Term Care Reimbursement project. As a senior developer, you will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from initial analysis and estimation to final implementation and debugging of complex enterprise applications.
Core Responsibilities
- Application Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale systems using C# .NET and Angular frameworks.
- Process Compliance: Follow SUITE processes to ensure all code meets federal Medicaid program rules and regulations.
- Full-Stack Engineering: Write, compile, and debug complex SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain sophisticated SSRS reports to support business intelligence and reimbursement tracking.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Author user acceptance test plans, create test data, and assist users in executing comprehensive testing phases.
- Security & Standards: Collaborate with Enterprise Security to ensure all IT solutions adhere to agency policies, standards, and firewall rules.
- DevOps Integration: Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management, sprint planning, and task tracking, while leveraging GIT for version control.
- Innovation: Integrate modern tools like GitHub Copilot into daily workflows to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Mentorship & Strategy: Serve as a technical resource for Project Managers and participate in the strategic direction of the client agency.
Technical Skill Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development. Expert-level proficiency in C# .NET, JavaScript, and SQL Server is mandatory. You must have at least 5 years of recent experience with Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks (ES6+). Deep knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL development is required, specifically for managing complex database configurations and linked servers. Experience with Java (Eclipse IDE) and React.js is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, along with DevOps practices, will be a significant advantage.
Domain Expertise
While not strictly required, experience in Federal or State Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) reimbursement processes for Medicaid and Medicare is highly preferred. Understanding the complexities of Long-Term Care expenses will allow the candidate to contribute more effectively to the project’s business logic. The role requires a professional who can build trust through integrity and foster strategic relationships within a cross-functional team environment.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring two days onsite per week in Lansing, Michigan. The project environment is a blend of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, requiring flexibility and strong organizational skills. You will be part of a small, dedicated team where your contributions directly impact the efficiency of state-level healthcare reimbursement systems.
Special Requirements
Local to MI Only. Hybrid 2 Days Onsite/Week. Visa constraint: No USC/GC (per email). 10+ Years experience required.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
