Role Overview
3K Technologies is looking for a dedicated and highly skilled IT Project Manager for a long-term onsite engagement in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is centered on leading diverse projects ranging from software development and data migrations to hardware replacements and strategic governance initiatives. The successful candidate will be a key driver in modernizing public sector infrastructure and ensuring that IT projects align with long-term strategic goals. This position requires a professional who can navigate the complexities of government environments while maintaining high standards of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams through the entire project management lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Manage project financials using Earned Value Management (EVM), tracking key metrics such as Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Utilize Azure DevOps or GitHub for comprehensive backlog management, user story documentation, and sprint tracking.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and risk mitigation plans using tools like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
- Elicit and document complex business requirements, translating them into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure that all deliverables meet the defined quality standards.
- Leverage Business Intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau to provide data-driven insights and support executive decision-making.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager specifically leading IT-related projects. A deep understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Feature Driven Design, is essential. You should be proficient in business process modeling and have a proven track record of identifying inefficiencies and recommending strategic improvements. Strong leadership skills are a must, as you will be managing diverse teams and high-level stakeholders. Experience in the public sector or government environment is highly preferred, as is familiarity with legislative budget requests and policy development.
Education and Certifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), or Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) are highly valued and will distinguish top candidates. Additionally, ITIL certification or experience with Change Management (CCMP) is beneficial for navigating the governance structures of large-scale enterprise projects.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
