Role Overview: ForgeRock Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ForgeRock Developer to join our team for an onsite contract position in New York, NY. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and implementing robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using the ForgeRock Identity Platform. You will be responsible for configuring, customizing, and extending ForgeRock products to meet complex business requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing enterprise applications and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement comprehensive Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using the ForgeRock Identity Platform, including ForgeRock Access Management (AM), Directory Services (DS), and Identity Management (IDM).
- Configure and customize ForgeRock products to align with specific business needs, security policies, and compliance requirements.
- Develop custom authentication modules, authorization policies, and user self-service functionalities within the ForgeRock ecosystem.
- Integrate ForgeRock solutions with various enterprise applications, directories (LDAP, Active Directory), and cloud services using standard protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.
- Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of ForgeRock implementations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with architects, security engineers, and other development teams to define technical requirements, design specifications, and integration strategies.
- Provide technical expertise and support for ForgeRock environments, including upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with the latest ForgeRock product releases, features, and industry best practices in identity and access management.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and security guidelines.
- Assist in the development of proof-of-concept solutions and prototypes to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of IAM solutions within scope and budget.
- Address and resolve complex technical issues related to identity federation, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and user provisioning.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IAM processes and infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a ForgeRock Developer, with hands-on expertise in implementing and managing ForgeRock Access Management (AM), Directory Services (DS), and Identity Management (IDM).
- Strong proficiency in Java development, including experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
- Solid understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication, authorization, single sign-on (SSO), identity federation, user provisioning, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Experience with standard identity protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and LDAP.
- Familiarity with web application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss) and database systems.
- Knowledge of security best practices and principles in application development and IAM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced contract setting.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of directory services like OpenLDAP, Active Directory, or ForgeRock Directory Services.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for automation and customization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in an IAM context is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
