This role is for an experienced Talend and Snowflake Developer/Support Engineer to join a dynamic team, focusing on the support and enhancement of critical ETL pipelines and data warehouse applications. These systems are primarily hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), requiring a candidate with a strong background in cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical expertise in data integration and warehousing, coupled with exceptional communication skills, as this role involves significant interaction in customer-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support for existing Talend, AWS Glue, and Snowflake applications hosted on AWS, ensuring smooth day-to-day operational activities.
- Actively respond to user queries and requests, delivering timely information and effective resolutions to maintain high user satisfaction.
- Lead and facilitate user discussions during onsite hours, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination with offshore development and support teams.
- Oversee the transition of applications from development to support teams, rigorously ensuring that all production standards are met before accepting changes into the live environment.
- Proactively identify and implement enhancements within the existing codebase, driving these improvements from conception to successful closure.
- Collaborate with the Data & Analytics Architect to assist in effort estimation and the preparation of detailed proposals for new projects and initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience (Must-Have)
- Demonstrated strong experience in designing, building, and debugging complex ETL pipelines using Talend Open Studio.
- Proven experience in job orchestration and scheduling using Talend Administration Center (TAC), ensuring efficient and reliable data workflows.
- Extensive hands-on experience in writing advanced SQL queries and developing Stored Procedures within the Snowflake data warehouse environment.
- A solid understanding of core Snowflake functionalities, including:
- Efficient utilization of File Stages for data ingestion.
- Management and scheduling of Tasks for automated data processes.
- Expertise in various data loading techniques and complex data transformations within Snowflake.
- Prior experience working in customer-facing roles, demonstrating the ability to understand user needs and communicate technical solutions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with strong documentation abilities to maintain clear and comprehensive records.
Desirable Skills and Experience (Good-to-Have)
- Experience working within the Manufacturing Industry, understanding its unique data challenges and requirements.
- Hands-on experience with key AWS technologies, such as:
- Amazon S3 for scalable object storage.
- AWS Lambda for serverless computing and event-driven data processing.
- Amazon RDS for managed relational databases.
- AWS Glue for serverless data integration and ETL services.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.) for reporting, documentation, and data analysis tasks.
