This exciting opportunity is for a highly skilled Embedded Engineer with extensive experience in the Automotive Domain, located in Columbus, IN. The role demands a professional with a deep understanding of embedded systems, telematics, and automotive industry standards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and validating cutting-edge embedded software solutions for next-generation automotive applications. Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus:

  • System Design and Architecture: Leverage 7+ years of experience as a System Design Engineer within the Automotive Embedded Telematics Domain to contribute to and lead the design of complex embedded systems. This includes developing robust software architectures and creating detailed network and boundary diagrams using tools like Visio Professional.
  • Requirement Engineering and Profile Creation: Take ownership of requirement engineering processes, translating high-level business and functional needs into precise technical specifications and profiles. Ensure that all requirements are thoroughly documented, traceable, and align with project goals.
  • Software Development with Embedded C: Demonstrate strong proficiency in Embedded C programming, developing efficient, reliable, and high-performance code for automotive applications. This involves working on critical components that interact directly with vehicle hardware and communication protocols.
  • Verification & Validation (V&V): Lead and participate in comprehensive Verification & Validation activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and safety of embedded software. This includes developing test plans, executing tests, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Cloud Integration and Communication Protocols: Possess awareness and experience with cloud interfaces, specifically AWS IoT Services and Azure, for telematics and connected car applications. Work with essential automotive communication protocols such as J1939 and UDS, ensuring seamless data exchange within vehicle networks.
  • Adherence to Legislations and Quality Tools: Maintain awareness of relevant automotive legislations, such as EU7 OBM, and ensure all designs and implementations comply with these standards. Utilize industry-standard quality tools like iDFMEA, FTA/Fishbone, and other Six Sigma methodologies to identify and mitigate potential risks and improve system reliability.
  • Agile Methodologies and Tools: Operate effectively within an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment, potentially taking on the role of a Product Owner. Utilize tools like JIRA (or equivalents) for project management, task tracking, and collaboration. Experience with Postman for API debugging is also valuable.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in the Automotive Embedded Telematics Domain.
  • Strong expertise in Requirement Engineering and Technical Profile creation.
  • Proven ability in Software Architecture Development.
  • Solid background in Verification & Validation (V&V) processes.
  • High proficiency in Embedded C programming.
  • Hands-on experience with design tools such as Visio Professional for creating network and boundary diagrams.
  • Familiarity with quality tools like iDFMEA, FTA/Fishbone, and other Six Sigma tools.
  • Understanding of the System V-Model and Agile processes.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Postman for API debugging.
  • Awareness of electronic control architecture, including microprocessors, software, and service tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud interfaces, specifically AWS IoT Services and Azure.
  • Experience with communication protocols: J1939, UDS.
  • Awareness of legislations, particularly EU7 OBM.

Soft Skills and Team Collaboration:

  • Experience working as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, crucial for technical discussions and stakeholder interactions.

Compensation & Location
