Job Summary:

Square Hiring is looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Project Manager to join a dynamic team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role is a contract position focused on delivering critical cybersecurity initiatives within the Central Hudson organization. The ideal candidate will leverage established project management methodologies to ensure projects are completed within scope, on schedule, and within budget. This position is integral to the initiation, planning, design, testing, and successful delivery of technology projects in a complex, matrixed environment, ultimately driving measurable business objectives and overseeing the entire project lifecycle from inception to operational transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People & Team Management:
  • Foster strong interpersonal and customer service skills to enable collaborative project deliveries and champion the value of project management across the organization.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships throughout project lifecycles, collaborating with vendor implementation teams to align expectations and deliverables.
  • Partner with stakeholders to produce essential project artifacts, including scope, schedule, budget, design documents, test plans, communication plans, training plans, deployment plans, run plans, and change control documentation, ensuring alignment with the appropriate project stage.
  • Lead critical, time-sensitive discussions regarding risks, opportunities, issues, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, and decision points with stakeholders, collaborating with the team to develop actionable plans.
  • Drive the execution of organizational change management plans to ensure effective communication and adoption of project outcomes.
  • Project Governance & Management:
  • Adhere to Central Hudson’s project management standards for both Waterfall and Agile frameworks to achieve predictable performance and delivery excellence.
  • Consistently deliver effective status reports with actionable details tailored for executive, sponsor, and project team recipients.
  • Create and maintain accurate project budgets, actively managing costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Execute proper change control processes to ensure transparency and effectively manage scope, schedule, and cost adjustments.
  • Proficiently utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, PPM, and budgeting software to ensure high-quality project deliveries.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including change management, incident reporting, time and expense reporting, purchase requisition processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Technology Focus:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Central Hudson’s Cybersecurity roadmap and develop plans to effectively deliver on its objectives.
  • Possess the ability to comprehend technical constraints, dependencies, and frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with technical leads and vendors to ensure the accurate translation of requirements into comprehensive test plans and robust technical solutions, maintaining requirements traceability.
  • Demonstrate technical acumen to guide the project team in executing high-quality design, testing, and cutover activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing projects within a matrixed or co-sourced environment.
  • Proven strong experience in project management and delivery of Cybersecurity projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, SDLC, or Agile certification.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated capability for problem-solving, sound decision-making, and assertiveness.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation abilities suitable for large groups.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of providing excellent service to internal stakeholders.
  • Experienced user of MS Project and the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Energy & Utilities or related service industries.
  • Experience with various Cybersecurity tools.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with PPM tools, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Background in risk management, threat intelligence, and incident response.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or comparable.

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid onsite model: 1-2 days per week in the Poughkeepsie, NY office.
  • Candidates should reside in the Tristate area (NY, NJ, CT).

Special Requirements

Hybrid Onsite 1-2 days a week Rest Remote. Should be from Tristate


Compensation & Location

Salary: $80 – $80 per year

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
