Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Oracle Database Administrator to join our team for an onsite position located at 90 Church Street, Lower Manhattan, NY. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management. This is a local-hire position, requiring candidates to be based in or willing to relocate to the New York/New Jersey area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring to ensure optimal operation.
- Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Ensure database security through access control, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain database documentation.
- Collaborate with development and system administration teams.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest Oracle technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Current Oracle certification (e.g., OCP).
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and shell scripting.
- Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of database security principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be local to the NY/NJ area or willing to relocate.
