Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Java Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, loosely coupled systems, driving the transition from monolithic to modern, distributed architectures. This role involves partnering with business and technology leaders to define architecture roadmaps, support modernization efforts, and align solutions with enterprise strategy. The ideal candidate will establish and promote best practices for event-based systems, ensuring effective communication across platforms and domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, loosely coupled systems, driving the transition from monolithic to modern, distributed architectures.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to define architecture roadmaps, support modernization efforts, and align solutions with enterprise strategy.
  • Establish and promote best practices for event-based systems, ensuring effective communication across platforms and domains.
  • Drive proof-of-concept initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead design sessions to validate business and technical solutions.
  • Define and enforce architecture standards related to security, compliance, performance, and responsible AI practices.
  • Guide and develop engineers and architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and engineering excellence.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and external partners to deliver integrated, scalable, and observable solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading enterprise architecture initiatives (TOGAF certification preferred).
  • Strong expertise in event-driven architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing technical teams.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python, Java or .NET, and relational databases.
  • Strong experience with microservices, APIs, and event-based systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and SDLC best practices.
  • Experience with prototyping, experimentation, and solution validation.

Special Requirements

Visa: USC or GC Only (NO Other Visas). Employment Type: W2 or 1099 ONLY (NO C2C/C2H). Location: Remote US, Light travel to Omaha may be required.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $75 per year (Estimated)
