Job Description: Oracle Database Admin – Azure
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator with strong experience in Azure environments. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our Oracle databases hosted on Azure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Mandatory Skills:
- Core Platform & Architecture (Oracle Database@Azure): Deep understanding of deploying and managing Oracle databases within the Azure cloud ecosystem. This includes expertise in Azure services relevant to database management, such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage.
- Oracle Database: Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and troubleshooting. Experience with various Oracle versions is expected.
- Azure – Cloud: Proficiency in Azure cloud services, with a focus on database-related services. This includes understanding Azure resource management, security best practices, and cost optimization within Azure.
- Terraform: Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and manage cloud resources, particularly for Oracle database deployments on Azure. This ensures consistent and repeatable infrastructure setups.
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps): Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. This is important for automating database deployments, updates, and related infrastructure changes.
- Production Operations & Cutover Management: Proven experience in managing production database environments, including monitoring, incident response, problem management, and executing planned cutover activities for migrations or major updates.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Agile – Scrum: Experience working in an Agile development environment, particularly using the Scrum framework. This involves participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
