Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior JD Edwards (JDE) World Support Engineer with AS/400 expertise for an onsite contract role in Atlanta, GA. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and focuses on the day-to-day stability and support of JDE World applications on the IBM i / AS/400 platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the day-to-day stability of JDE World applications on IBM i / AS/400 (Tier 0/Tier 1 support).
  • Monitor production alerts, jobs, and interfaces; triage issues, restore service quickly, and escalate critical alerts per SOP.
  • Provide on-call support, handle incident intake, impact assessment, and customer communications until closure.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for Sev 1/Sev 2 incidents; implement permanent fixes and preventive controls.
  • Support change windows/outages/maintenance, validate post-deployment health, and ensure rollback readiness.
  • Maintain and execute operational runbooks, escalation paths, and first-hour checklists.
  • Track and close related incidents/problems, coordinating with infrastructure, network, database, and downstream application teams.
  • Produce and distribute daily/weekly/monthly operational reports/dashboards (incidents, trends, SLAs).

Technical Skills Required:

  • JDE World Software: A7.3 or onwards versions (Mandatory).
  • JDE World Core Components: SVR, DW, VO, PO, UDC, DD, WW, RDA, FDA, SDA (Mandatory).
  • JDE Functional Modules: WMS, SnD, Finance (advantages).
  • AS400 Environment: DB2/400, SQL/400, SQLRPGLE, RPG, RPGLE, CLLE, CL (Mandatory).
  • Tools: ALDON, HAWKEYE, DBU, UCT, JIRA, ServiceNow.
  • JDE Production Support: Strong hands-on experience with IBM i (AS/400) operations and tooling. Ability to analyze and fix issues using CLLE, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE; validate data with SQL400. Experience supporting JDE World modules (Supply Chain/Finance) in production, including job streams, batch runs, and integrations. Familiarity with API/interface checks (e.g., Postman/SOAP UI when relevant to JDE integrations). Comfortable reading logs, job spool files, and system messages to isolate faults quickly.

Process & Governance:

  • Work within ITSM processes (e.g., ServiceNow) for Incidents/Problems/Changes; keep tickets current and accurate.
  • Document RCA, resolution steps, KB articles, and keep SOPs up to date.
  • Contribute to alert tuning and thresholds to reduce noise and improve MTTR.
  • Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies as needed for production backlog and problem tickets.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience required.
  • Experience with Oracle JDE World – Product Configuration (Functional) – SCM – Sales Order Management.
  • Good-to-Have: JDE product, WMS or PKMS experience.

  • This is an onsite role in Atlanta, GA.
  • The contract duration is 6 months.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $85 per year (Estimated)
