Job Overview:

We are urgently hiring a Tandem Developer for a 6+ month contract-to-hire position in Tampa, FL. This role can be onsite or remote and involves video interviews. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Tandem development, including TAL, TACL scripting, Tandem COBOL, and Tandem C/C++.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain applications using TAL (Transaction Application Language).
  • Write and maintain TACL scripting.
  • Develop applications using Tandem COBOL and Tandem C/C++.
  • Design and troubleshoot software for fault-tolerant systems.
  • Work with NonStop SQL (SQLMP or SQLMX) and file systems like Enscribe.
  • Perform database administration and performance tuning on NonStop platforms.
  • Utilize platform-specific tools such as Pathway, FUP, BATCHCOM, ENFORM, and SQLCI.
  • Develop TACL automation scripts, Perl scripting, and scripting for OSS/Unix-like layers.
  • Automate deployments, monitoring, and batch processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Tandem skills: Programming Development, TAL, TACL scripting, Tandem COBOL, Tandem C/C++.
  • Ability to code in modern programming languages (C, C++, COBOL).
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting software for fault-tolerant systems.
  • Database File System Skills: NonStop SQL (SQLMP or SQLMX), Enscribe.
  • Database administration and performance tuning on NonStop platforms.
  • Familiarity with tools: Pathway, FUP, BATCHCOM, ENFORM, SQLCI.
  • Scripting and Automation: TACL automation scripts, Perl scripting, scripting for OSS or Unix-like layers.
  • Experience with automation for deployments, monitoring, and batch processes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Digital: NOSQL, Unix, Scripting and text processing tools, C++, System Z – Enterprise COBOL.
