Job Description:
We are seeking an Oracle Application Support Analyst for a 3-4 month contract position, requiring 5 days a week onsite in our Downtown Houston office. This role is ideal for local Houston talent or those able to be onsite for interviews. The successful candidate will provide application functional and limited technical support for Oracle eBusiness Systems Modules in Finance (AR, AP, GL, CM, FA, iExpense, and iSupplier) and in Projects (Costing, Billing, Accounting). Prior experience in a support role is required.
The ideal candidate will be customer-facing, willing to take on system operational challenges, articulate ideas clearly, and understand problems to identify the underlying cause of system issues. You must be able to identify customizations from standard features and functionality, employing a keen, inquisitive, and investigative approach to problem-solving using data as evidence. The ability to generate ad hoc reports to support or identify the magnitude of an issue is crucial.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, identifying the underlying cause of issues, and recommending workarounds and/or corrective actions. You will use diagnostic scripts, SQL, and other query writing tools to analyze data, extract data for ad hoc reporting, and identify constraints and integrity issues. Providing data correction scripts to address defects due to inconsistent data states is also part of the role. Conducting conference room pilots and user acceptance testing on defect fixes, features, and system improvements, ensuring acceptance criteria are met, is essential. The role also involves responsibility for completion of all required Change Management tasks and relevant SOX control requirements (if applicable).
The candidate will utilize industry-accepted project management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices throughout the project life cycle. Acquiring and utilizing business knowledge through available resources to develop and deliver business expertise solutions, and tracking deliverables with reporting to management as needed, are also key aspects of this position. Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university with an Accounting Major, or 5 years of related industry experience is required.
- At least 5-7 years of experience working and supporting Oracle eBusiness Modules, preferably Finance and/or Oracle Projects. Awareness of data flow processes between subledger and between subledger and General Ledger is required.
- Able to review and understand programming logic constructs used in Workflow, Apex, BI Publisher Reports to learn current system state.
- 3+ years of experience with SQL, PL/SQL is required.
- Must be aware of EBS Data model and architecture in the areas of Finance and Projects.
- 3+ years of programming experience in Oracle Apex is preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-developer, team environment is preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) is preferred.
- Able to articulate application behavior, current and future states, in a language that is understood by the end user.
Special Requirements
Onsite 5 days a week in Downtown Houston office. Seeking local talent to Houston talent or able to be onsite in Houston for interview. USC, GC, GC-EAD and H4EAD. ONE round ONSITE interview in Houston – mandatory. Must have Oracle Finance expertise and Projects, not Supply Chain. Must be Oracle eBusiness Systems Modules in Finance expert. If they've applied in the last year to Enterprise – do not submit them. Willing to travel up to 10%.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $70 per year (Estimated)
