Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Kubernetes Application Support Engineer to manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized applications running on Kubernetes clusters. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our production environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with container orchestration, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and production support processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for containerized applications deployed on Kubernetes.
- Monitor cluster and application health using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to applications, pods, nodes, and networking within Kubernetes environments.
- Manage application deployments using Helm charts, Argo CD, or other CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures to enhance system stability.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and development teams to ensure smooth release management and maintain environment stability.
- Manage scaling, resource optimization, and performance tuning of containerized workloads.
- Handle Kubernetes upgrades, patching, and routine cluster maintenance tasks.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including RBAC, Network Policies, and Secrets management.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) architecture and core components.
- Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience with major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (AKS) or Google Cloud (GKE).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration.
- Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to Kubernetes (Ingress, Services, DNS, Load Balancers).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 support rotation (if required).
- Experience with ITIL-based incident and change management processes.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
