Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is 100% remote within the USA and offers a long-term contract or full-time employment opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines, managing large-scale data systems, and supporting critical analytics initiatives. You will work with cutting-edge big data technologies and cloud platforms to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data from various sources.
  • Work with large datasets using big data technologies such as PySpark, Spark, and Hadoop.
  • Develop and deploy data solutions on major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Implement and manage data warehousing solutions using technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Optimize data processing and storage performance for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure data quality, implement data governance best practices, and maintain data security standards.
  • Automate data workflows and operational tasks using tools like Airflow or similar orchestration platforms.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed computing frameworks like Spark, PySpark, and Hadoop.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda), Azure, or GCP.
  • Proven experience with modern data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
  • Experience with real-time data streaming technologies like Kafka.
  • A strong understanding of data modeling principles and data architecture best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing and deploying Machine Learning pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
