Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on engineer to own, operate, and enhance a Tier 0 business-critical application used across enterprise operations. The stack includes ASP .NET 4.5 (C#) hosted on Microsoft Windows Server, DB2 as the primary database, and Embedded C components interfacing with on-premise services/devices. This role leads incident response, RCA/permanent fixes, small enhancements, and coordination across multiple Distribution Centers (DCs) to maintain strict availability and performance SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Ownership: Ensure availability, performance, capacity, and recoverability of the Tier 0 application; maintain DR readiness and runbooks.
- Monitoring & Incident Response: Tune dashboards/alerts/logging; lead Sev 1/Sev 2 bridges; perform RCA and implement permanent fixes to improve MTTR.
- Maintenance & Enhancements: Develop/modify ASP.NET 4.5 components, services, jobs; support Embedded C modules; optimize DB2 queries/indexes.
- Change/Release Management: Plan safe releases with rollback strategies; adhere to CAB/change controls; validate post-deploy health.
- Windows Server Operations: Administer IIS hosted apps/services, scheduled tasks, certs, and platform patching in partnership with Infra/SRE.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the technical point of contact for DC operations, business SMEs, Service Desk, and upstream/downstream application owners; provide clear updates and action plans.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain SOPs, runbooks, escalation paths, and first-hour checklists; publish weekly/monthly operational reports and trends.
Required Skills & Experience
- ASP .NET 4.5 (C#) strong development and debugging of IIS hosted applications/services.
- Embedded C programming experience maintaining/diagnosing C code that interfaces with device/agent/OS services.
- DB2 (LUW or iSeries) SQL design, performance tuning, troubleshooting (locks, deadlocks, index/plan analysis).
- Windows Server app operations expertise (IIS, services, schedulers, event logs, TLS/certs, DNS/LB basics).
- Proven ownership of Tier 0/Tier 1 or comparable high availability systems; confident running incident bridges and RCAs.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, especially with DC stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams.
Nice to Have
- Scripting for ops automation (Power, Batch).
- APM/log platforms (e.g., New Relic/AppDynamics/Elastic), synthetic monitoring experience.
- ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for Incidents/Problems/Changes; CAB participation.
- CI/CD familiarity (Azure DevOps/Jenkins/Git); secure coding and hardening practices for IIS/.NET/Windows.
Education & Tenure
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 7-10+ years total experience, with 5+ in .NET/Windows/DB2 production environments and exposure to Embedded C.
Working Model
- Onsite (5 days/week); on-call rotation for critical incidents; occasional off-hours maintenance windows.
- Adheres to security, audit, and compliance standards; participates in DR tests and seasonal readiness.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
Location: Atlanta, GA
