Job ID: JOB_ID_4192
Job Overview
We’re building the data backbone that powers fund management, investor reporting, and financial operations across a suite of interconnected services. As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll design and maintain backend systems that move, transform, and deliver critical financial data between enterprise platforms – from CRMs and data warehouses to event-driven pipelines and investor-facing portals.
This isn’t a role where you write code in isolation. You’ll collaborate across teams, navigate complex business domains, and make architectural decisions that directly affect data accuracy for investors and fund operations. You’ll own problems, not just tickets – from understanding a business requirement through SQL optimization, schema design, API delivery, and production support.
We move fast, iterate often, and value engineers who bring energy and accountability to everything they ship.
What You’ll Do
- Build and evolve backend services that orchestrate data flows across multiple enterprise systems.
- Write and optimize complex SQL against large-scale data warehouses and relational databases.
- Design and maintain event-driven integrations using message brokers and schema registries.
- Develop REST and GraphQL APIs that serve downstream consumers reliably.
- Improve observability, data quality, and resilience across production workloads.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and other engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
Technical
- Strong experience with Python and/or Java building production backend services.
- Deep comfort with SQL – analytical queries, performance tuning, working across multiple database engines (Snowflake, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
- Experience with event-driven architectures – Kafka, Azure EventHub, or equivalent messaging systems.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred) – secrets management, blob storage, identity, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) to accelerate delivery – writing, reviewing, debugging, and testing code faster while maintaining quality and understanding of the output.
Who You Are
- High ownership – you treat the product as yours, not just the code. When something is broken or unclear, you step in without being asked.
- Results-driven – you push through ambiguity, legacy complexity, and cross-team dependencies to deliver what matters on time.
- Deeply responsible – you care about what happens after deployment. Data correctness, downstream impact, and operational reliability are personal to you.
- Pragmatic communicator – you surface risks early, ask the right questions, and keep stakeholders informed without being prompted.
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, fund administration, or investor operations.
- Background building or maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Familiarity with CRM integrations (Salesforce or similar).
- Exposure to Redis, GraphQL, Avro serialization, or schema registry patterns.
- Experience with containerized deployments and infrastructure-as-code.
Special Requirements
Must have financial domain experience. 3 days onsite.
