Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sr. Functional Tester to join our IT Business Systems Delivery (BSD) Customer Engagement department. This role involves supporting, managing, and implementing IT system capital initiatives for Customer Operations, Energy Management, and Energy Efficiency business partners. The ideal candidate will contribute to the entire lifecycle of IT initiatives, from conception to implementation, including system enhancements, interface design, and new application development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive testing efforts and participate in the Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
- Verify the quality of requirements, including testability, requirements definition, test design, test-script and test-data development, test automation test-environment configuration, test-script configuration management, and test execution.
- Develop test plans, including testing goals and strategy.
- Educate customers and project teams about User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide training and mentoring to the Test Team.
- Interact with test-tool vendors to identify best ways to leverage test tools on the project.
- Stay current on the latest test approaches and tools, and transfer this knowledge to the test team.
- Review and validate test results and defect reports by testers.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders throughout the testing process.
- Create summary reports and communicate defect metrics on a daily and weekly basis.
- Schedule and lead daily defect meetings and other required meetings with stakeholders.
- Manage the triage process for defects, including assignments to Development and coordinating ownership and resolution.
- Coordinate and follow up with Development Leads and Testers on defect fix estimates and retesting estimates.
- Maintain the Test Traceability Matrix (tracing test procedures to test requirements).
- Coordinate Intake Process/Close out Process (e.g., Lessons Learned) for all projects, including securing stakeholder (PM and Customer) sign-off and ensuring all testing documentation is complete.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager or Project Lead regarding the Integrated Change Control Process for change requests during the testing phase.
Technical Skills
- Ability to react/produce in an Agile project atmosphere.
- Basic functional testing.
- Develop functional test cases.
- Experience in Azure DevOps Test Plans.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $70 per year (Estimated)
