About the Role:
The client, MDHS, is seeking two highly experienced ADABAS Administrators to support their enterprise applications, including MACWIS and related systems. The selected candidates will collaborate closely with technical teams to maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy mainframe environments. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates. This is a long-term contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support ADABAS databases and Software AG technologies.
- Collaborate with MDHS administrators to support MACWIS and other enterprise systems.
- Analyze user requirements, design solutions, and perform testing and quality assurance.
- Provide system architecture guidance and technical recommendations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and process updates.
- Support compliance with SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare programs.
- Assist with system enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with Software AG products, including: ADABAS, Natural, Natural One, Predict, Construct, ADABAS Replication, Treehouse tcVision, WebMethods EntireX, CONNX SQL Gateway, ApplinX, Natural AJAX.
- 10+ years of experience with MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM, Linux/zLinux, UNIX, and Informix environments.
- Strong experience in system analysis, design, testing, implementation, and QA.
- 3+ years of experience in system architecture and documentation development.
- 2+ years of experience supporting SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Jira and KACE ITSM.
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications.
- Knowledge of child welfare workflows and federal compliance requirements.
Technical Skill Requirements:
- ADABAS – Advanced (Required)
- Relational Database Systems – Intermediate (Required)
- CICS, JCL, CA-7, VSAM – Intermediate (Required)
- Agile / SDLC Methodologies – Intermediate (Required/Preferred as listed)

Compensation & Location
Salary: $80,000 – $110,000 per year (Estimated)
