Position Summary
We are looking for a visionary AI Architect or Principal Architect to lead the transformation of legacy systems into modern, AI-driven platforms. This role focuses on architecting and scaling Agentic AI systems that possess multi-step reasoning capabilities and autonomous action features. You will be at the forefront of application modernization, defining the reference architectures that will shape the future of our enterprise technology landscape.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and scale Agentic AI systems capable of complex reasoning and autonomous execution for large-scale application modernization.
- Define and implement reference architectures for container-based application hosting and advanced memory management using vector databases.
- Lead the development of reusable AI modules, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and hybrid ML/LLM systems.
- Establish standardized evaluation frameworks to measure the performance, accuracy, and cost-efficiency of AI models.
- Select and optimize the LLM stack, including model selection, orchestration frameworks, and observability tools.
- Standardize advanced prompting patterns such as chain-of-thought, few-shot templates, and automated chunking strategies.
- Champion AI-assisted coding workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development and migration timelines.
- Integrate LLM workflows into existing enterprise systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and high-performance output.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to enforce AI safety, data privacy, and ethical AI standards.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Generative AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for leadership and customers, translating complex AI concepts into strategic business value.
Technical Expertise
- Deep proficiency in LangGraph, LangMem, and agentic workflow development.
- Hands-on experience with reasoning, instruction-following, safety, and embedding models.
- Expertise in LLM evaluation and testing using frameworks like DeepEval and LangGraph evals.
- Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with a focus on AI/ML service integration.
- Experience in building robust data pipelines to support real-time AI applications.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with at least 1+ years specifically focused on Agentic AI and LLM systems.
- Proven experience in rapid AI prototyping and implementation using modern AI-assisted development tools.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing technical teams and driving product vision.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical engineers and executive leadership.
Special Requirements
10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering with 1+ years in agentic AI and LLM systems. Locations: Berkeley Heights, NJ or Atlanta, GA.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $210,000 – $285,000 per year (Estimated)
