Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in Java and/or Python, along with hands-on expertise in Kong API Gateway. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and manage scalable APIs and microservices while ensuring high performance, security, and reliability across distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • Build scalable and high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices
  • Implement clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices

API Gateway & Management (Kong)

  • Configure, deploy, and manage APIs using Kong API Gateway
  • Implement API routing, rate limiting, authentication, and security policies
  • Develop and manage Kong plugins (custom plugins preferred)
  • Monitor API performance, logging, and analytics

System Design & Integration

  • Design microservices-based architecture and integrate third-party services
  • Work with message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ) and event-driven systems
  • Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and cloud teams for seamless integration

Cloud & DevOps

  • Deploy applications on cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments

Required Skills

  • Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python
  • Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API security standards
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

Compensation & Location

Salary: $65 – $90 per year (Estimated)
