Job Title: Software/DATA Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience. This is a contract position and requires the candidate to be local to the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Implement and optimize data processing jobs using distributed computing frameworks.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes.
- Implement data warehousing solutions and data lake strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Strong experience with Apache Spark (batch and streaming).
- Hands-on experience with Apache Flink for real-time processing.
- Solid understanding of Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams).
- Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Working knowledge of Apache Cassandra (NoSQL database).
- Experience with Apache Iceberg or similar data lake table formats.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and data architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
