Role Overview

Source Infotech is currently seeking a highly specialized DevOps Engineer with extensive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise for a strategic remote position supporting our client, CVS Health. This role is exclusively open to former CVS Health contractors or employees who possess a deep understanding of the organization’s internal cloud protocols and infrastructure standards. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure. This position requires a blend of technical prowess in cloud architecture and a disciplined approach to automation and security within a highly regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope

  • Architect and maintain robust cloud infrastructure utilizing the full suite of Google Cloud Platform services, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to maintain consistency across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Design, build, and optimize sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Google Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions to facilitate rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Orchestrate containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), managing the full lifecycle of clusters and nodes.
  • Oversee container image management and security through the Artifact Registry, ensuring all images meet corporate compliance standards.
  • Automate the provisioning and configuration of compute resources via Compute Engine, utilizing custom images and startup scripts where necessary.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using Google Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging to ensure proactive issue resolution.
  • Enforce stringent security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM) configuration, VPC networking, firewall rule management, and secure secrets handling.
  • Conduct regular performance tuning, cost optimization audits, and capacity planning to ensure the GCP environment remains cost-effective and performant.
  • Troubleshoot complex deployment issues and provide high-level support for production environments to maintain 99.9% uptime.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and security teams to integrate DevOps principles into the entire software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record as a DevOps Engineer with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Mandatory previous experience working within the CVS Health ecosystem; candidates must provide genuine references and valid ID from their prior tenure.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and Docker containerization.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts within GCP, including VPCs, Subnets, Load Balancing, and Cloud DNS.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) as they relate to cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.

Security and Compliance Standards

  • Manage IAM roles and permissions with a principle of least privilege to protect sensitive healthcare data.
  • Configure and audit VPC Service Controls to mitigate data exfiltration risks.
  • Utilize Cloud Key Management Service (KMS) for encrypting data at rest and in transit.
  • Ensure all infrastructure deployments adhere to CVS Health’s internal security benchmarks and external regulatory requirements.

Mandatory ‘Ex-CVS’ Requirement

Please note that this specific requisition is strictly limited to individuals who have previously worked for CVS Health. This requirement is driven by the need for immediate productivity and familiarity with internal tools, security clearances, and organizational structure. Applicants must be able to provide their previous CVS manager’s name or employee ID for verification purposes. We are looking for ‘Genuine’ candidates who can hit the ground running without the standard onboarding curve associated with new vendors.

Why Join This Project?

This is a unique opportunity for a returning CVS Health professional to leverage their existing knowledge of the company’s technical landscape while working with cutting-edge GCP technologies. You will play a pivotal role in the digital transformation of one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, contributing to systems that impact millions of lives. We offer a competitive compensation package and the flexibility of a 100% remote work arrangement, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while tackling some of the most challenging problems in cloud engineering today.
