Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Fivetran ETL Developer for a contract position based in Milwaukee, WI, with the flexibility of remote work. This role is focused on building and maintaining robust data integration pipelines using Fivetran, specifically targeting Apache Iceberg within a modern data lake architecture. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring data consistency and availability for downstream analytics and business intelligence applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated ETL/ELT processes using Fivetran to ingest data from various sources.
- Configure and optimize Fivetran Managed Datalake Services to streamline data movement.
- Develop and maintain data structures in Apache Iceberg, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with data architects to define target schemas and data governance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, ensuring minimal downtime for critical data flows.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to maintain the integrity of the data lake.
- Document technical specifications and data lineage for all integration workflows.
Technical Environment and 2026 Trends
As organizations move toward decentralized data architectures, the role of an ETL developer has evolved to focus on managed services and open table formats like Iceberg. Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
