Role Overview
As a Front-End Chatbot Developer in 2026, you will be at the forefront of the conversational AI revolution. In this 12-month contract role based in Parsippany, New Jersey, you will be responsible for crafting the visual and interactive elements of sophisticated chatbot interfaces. Your work will directly impact how users interact with AI, ensuring that every conversation is intuitive, accessible, and efficient. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop highly responsive chatbot user interfaces using React.js, ensuring seamless performance across mobile and desktop platforms.
- Integrate front-end components with complex backend APIs and leading conversational AI platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Rasa.
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into high-quality code, maintaining a focus on conversational flow and user engagement.
- Implement state management solutions using Redux or similar libraries to handle complex user interactions and session data effectively.
- Ensure all digital assets meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to provide an inclusive experience for all users, regardless of their abilities.
- Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability, utilizing modern build tools like Webpack and Babel.
- Conduct rigorous unit and integration testing using Jest and Cypress to maintain code quality and prevent regressions in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning, to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve UI issues promptly to maintain a high standard of user satisfaction.
Technical Requirements
- Expert-level knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Professional experience with TypeScript for building scalable and maintainable front-end applications.
- Proven track record of developing complex applications with React.js (Angular or Vue experience is also highly valued).
- Strong understanding of RESTful API consumption and JSON data structures for real-time data handling.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative workflows within a team environment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based deployment environments, particularly GCP, for hosting AI-driven applications.
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts to better understand the underlying logic of chatbot interactions and improve UI responses.
Project Environment & Location
This role is primarily onsite in Parsippany, New Jersey. Candidates must be local or within an 80-mile radius to accommodate the hybrid work model and the requirement for an in-person interview. The project is slated for a 12-month duration with potential for extension, offering a stable and challenging environment for a seasoned developer looking to specialize in the AI space. The interview process will involve an initial video screening followed by a mandatory in-person meeting for local candidates.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $150,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
