Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team. This role is pivotal in the development and maintenance of our Competitive Admission (Comp Admission) platform. You will leverage Ruby on Rails for robust backend services and Vue.js to create intuitive, high-performance frontend interfaces. This position requires a developer who is passionate about building scalable features and ensuring a seamless user experience for a diverse user base, including applicants, administrators, and evaluators.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated backend services using Ruby on Rails, focusing on API development, database modeling, and complex business logic.
- Architect and build responsive, dynamic user interfaces using Vue.js, ensuring full accessibility and cross-device usability.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to implement critical features such as multi-step application forms, automated scoring workflows, real-time dashboards, and notification systems.
- Integrate essential third-party services, including payment gateways, communication providers (SMS/Email), and identity verification protocols.
- Optimize application performance, security, and scalability to handle high-volume traffic during peak admission cycles.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while participating in rigorous code reviews to maintain high quality and consistency across the codebase.
- Troubleshoot complex bugs and implement feature enhancements based on user feedback and data analytics.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, API endpoints, and deployment processes.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in full stack development specifically using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, MVC architecture, and relational database management (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
- Proficiency with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Familiarity with modern frontend state management libraries such as Vuex or Pinia and component-based design patterns.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the EdTech sector, specifically building or maintaining admission systems or educational platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of authentication protocols including OAuth and JWT, and implementation of role-based access control (RBAC).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to data analytics tools and reporting frameworks to drive data-informed development.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
