Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Tech Lead to join our dynamic engineering team in Jersey City, NJ. This is a critical leadership position where you will autonomously oversee the end-to-end delivery of a cross-functional team. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for managing two distinct squads, working in close partnership with the Product Manager to align technical execution with business objectives. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in Java and Angular, combined with strong relationship management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Management: You will oversee the delivery of complex, high-impact projects, ensuring that timelines are met with predictability and high quality. You will be responsible for tracking and reporting on all delivery metrics, including Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) to ensure system stability and performance.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and address technical and architectural risks. You will collaborate with development counterparts to mitigate potential system downtime and ensure robust data security protocols are in place.
- Design Accountability: Take full ownership of system designs within your team. You will lead design reviews, ensuring that the architecture is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Stakeholder Negotiation: Act as a bridge between technical teams and the Product Owner. You will skillfully negotiate trade-offs regarding scope, speed, and quality to ensure the best possible outcomes for the product.
- Team Mentorship and Growth: Provide guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers I and II. You will be involved in career management, performance reviews, and the promotion process, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Recruitment: Play a key role in scaling the engineering organization by conducting technical interviews and assisting with headcount planning.
Technical Requirements
- Backend Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate is required. You should have a deep understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Frontend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks like Angular and React.
- Database Management: Experience working with both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Cloud and DevOps: Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Gradle. Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred.

Beyond technical prowess, the ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. You will be expected to transform complex project requirements into actionable individual responsibilities, monitoring the team’s pace to instill a sense of urgency while actively preventing burnout. Your ability to manage relationships across different departments will be vital to the success of the squads you lead.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
