Role Overview
SYSMIND LLC is seeking a highly experienced and visionary IBM Sterling Commerce OMS Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level order management solutions for our premier retail clients in Atlanta, GA. This is a high-impact role requiring a deep technical understanding of the IBM Sterling suite and the ability to navigate complex retail ecosystems. As a Senior Architect, you will be the primary technical authority for OMS implementations, ensuring that the solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with the strategic business goals of our clients. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, providing leadership to development teams and clear communication to executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture and implementation of IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS) for large-scale retail environments.
- Design and customize core modules including Distributed Order Management (DOM), Pricing, Inventory, Call Center, Store, and Supplier Collaboration.
- Architect solutions for Nextgen OMoC 2.0, focusing on modernizing call center and store order management experiences.
- Develop and maintain complex order lifecycles, procurement flows, and transfer order processes to optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Integrate OMS with third-party systems for payment processing, tax calculation, and reverse logistics.
- Provide technical guidance on containerized and cloud-based deployments of IBM OMS.
- Lead cross-functional agile teams, ensuring high-quality code delivery and adherence to architectural best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define product roadmaps and identify opportunities for digital transformation within the order management domain.
- Perform deep-dive technical analysis and troubleshooting for complex production issues, ensuring minimal downtime for critical retail operations.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Information Technology.
- At least 10 years of dedicated experience in IBM OMS architecture, design, and implementation.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering multiple full-lifecycle IBM OMS projects for Tier-1 retailers.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java, Angular, XML, XSLT, and REST/SOAP web services.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture and its application within the IBM Sterling ecosystem.
- Extensive experience with both B2B and B2C implementation patterns and their unique challenges.
- Hands-on expertise in customizing the IBM Sterling platform to meet specific business logic requirements without compromising upgrade paths.
- Strong knowledge of Sales Order, Procurement Order, and Purchase Order flows.
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for OMS deployments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $195,000 – $275,000 per year (Estimated)
