Executive Summary: Lead Java Developer (Java 21)
Interas Labs LLC is seeking a distinguished Lead Java Developer for a long-term engagement in Trenton, NJ. This role is designed for a technical visionary with over 15 years of professional experience who can drive the development of enterprise-grade applications using the latest Java technologies. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring local candidates who can participate in on-site collaboration and in-person interviews. As a lead, you will be responsible for the architectural integrity, performance, and scalability of distributed systems that serve critical business functions.
Core Technical Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of microservices architecture using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
- Architect robust REST APIs and manage service-to-service communication in complex distributed environments.
- Oversee the deployment and management of containerized applications using AWS ECS and Fargate.
- Optimize relational database performance, specifically focusing on PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Drive front-end excellence by integrating Angular 15+ components into full-stack solutions.
- Utilize Python for automation and supplemental service development where required.
- Ensure high standards of code quality through rigorous peer reviews and automated testing frameworks.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Minimum of 15 years of total experience in software development.
- 13+ years of hands-on experience with Core Java, with recent expertise in Java 21.
- Extensive experience with the Spring Boot ecosystem for enterprise application development.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing microservices at scale.
- Deep proficiency in AWS cloud environments, specifically ECS, Fargate, and RDS.
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including stored procedures and performance optimization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior developers and interface with stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Environment
Candidates with 8+ years of experience in Angular (version 15 or higher) and Python will be given high priority. This role requires a deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) and the ability to navigate the complexities of modern cloud-native architectures. Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
