Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Mainframe Architect with a strong background in Java and AWS to join our team for a 100% onsite position in Wilmington, DE. This role requires extensive experience in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, z/OS, IMS/DB, IMS/DC, CICS, and JCL. The ideal candidate will also possess a must-have combination of Java and AWS experience, enabling them to bridge traditional mainframe systems with modern cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design solutions that integrate mainframe systems with Java and AWS services.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on mainframe technologies (COBOL, z/OS, IMS/DB, IMS/DC, CICS, JCL).
  • Develop and maintain Java applications that interact with mainframe systems.
  • Leverage AWS services to enhance mainframe capabilities, improve scalability, and enable new functionalities.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to define project requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across mainframe, Java, and AWS environments.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of mainframe modernization efforts.
  • Perform basic Mainframe System Administration tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ Years of experience in mainframe architecture and development.
  • Strong expertise in COBOL programming.
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS (Mainframe OS).
  • Hands-on experience with IMS/DB & IMS/DC.
  • Strong understanding of CICS transaction processing.
  • Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language).
  • Experience with Java (must-have).
  • Experience with AWS (must-have).
  • Basic knowledge of Mainframe System Administration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • The offered compensation is $65/hr or $120K Salary.
