Role Description:
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with over 10 years of experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within large corporate environments using IBM-Z/OS Mainframe applications. The role involves working with a comprehensive development suite including COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, and VSAM, covering both batch and real-time processes. Experience with CICS Mainview, REXX, CLIST, and utilities like FTP/NDM/File-Mover, CA-7, IBM Utilities, Intertest, File Aid, TSO/ISPF/SDSF, File Manager, Changeman, and SORT is essential. Proficiency in using debug tools like Xpediter is also required.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining IBM-Z/OS Mainframe applications.
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, VSAM (batch and real-time).
- Familiarity with CICS Mainview, REXX, CLIST.
- Proficient in FTP/NDM/File-Mover, CA-7, IBM Utilities, Intertest, File Aid, TSO/ISPF/SDSF, File Manager, Changeman, SORT.
- Experience with debug tools like Xpediter.
- Strong Database design and development skills in IMS DB, DB2, DB2 SQL, and Stored Procedures.
- Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ messaging solution.
- Exposure to distributed technologies like Java, Kafka, Rest Web Service, XML.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops secure, high-quality production code using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS; reviews and debugs code written by others.
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Estimates and plans JIRA stories and documents tasks.
- Performs hands-on coding and peer reviews to guarantee application stability, adherence to architecture standards, risk management, security policies, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
