Position Summary: Architect – Master Data Management (MDM)

Analytics Solutions is seeking a visionary MDM Architect to lead the design, implementation, and advancement of our enterprise Master Data Management architecture. This role is specifically focused on the complex domain of provider and physician data within a healthcare system. As the lead architect, you will be responsible for the technical vision and hands-on development of MDM solutions that ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across the entire healthcare ecosystem. This is a remote position requiring alignment with Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Core Responsibilities and Strategic Impact

  • Architectural Design: Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a physician-based MDM architecture. You will define data models, match/merge logic, survivorship rules, and reference data structures tailored to healthcare provider domains.
  • Databricks Integration: Apply advanced knowledge of Databricks to build scalable data pipelines and quality frameworks. You will integrate MDM assets into a modern data lakehouse environment to support real-time analytics and interoperability.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MDM technologies and healthcare provider data. You will partner with business leaders, clinicians, and data engineers to translate clinical requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Data Governance: Collaborate with the Data Governance office to establish stewardship practices, data definitions, and quality controls. You will be responsible for identifying root causes of data quality issues and implementing sustainable countermeasures.
  • Project Execution: Manage complex, multi-phase initiatives with minimal supervision. You will provide architectural direction while remaining hands-on in the development process to accelerate the delivery of high-impact MDM projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor the performance of MDM solutions and proactively optimize for efficiency. You will evaluate emerging tools (e.g., Unity Catalog, Reltio, Informatica) and recommend improvements to enhance enterprise scalability.

Required Technical Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Master Data Management (MDM), specifically within a healthcare or health-system environment.
  • Deep expertise with Databricks, distributed data processing, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Proven experience working with healthcare provider/physician data, including credentialing systems, EHR integration (Epic/Cerner), or provider rosters.
  • Very strong SQL skills for complex data analysis and pipeline development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with leading MDM platforms such as Unity Catalog, Informatica MDM, Reltio, Semarchy, Profisee, or IBM MDM.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards including NPI, HL7, and FHIR.
  • Prior experience in data governance programs or formal data stewardship roles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and non-technical clinical stakeholders.

This role is ideal for a senior data engineer or architect who has operated within large health systems and is looking to take the next step in leading enterprise-wide MDM strategy. You will play a pivotal role in the organization’s digital transformation by ensuring that provider data—the lifeblood of healthcare operations—is accurate, trusted, and accessible.

Special Requirements

Remote role; must work in EST hours. Domain restriction: Candidates must have experience with provider/physician healthcare data. Health insurance (payer) experience alone will not be considered.
