Job Title: MongoDB Developer
We are seeking a skilled MongoDB Developer with a strong understanding of database management and optimization. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the performance, availability, and security of our MongoDB instances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and configure MongoDB instances to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and implement clear documentation for the database setup, architecture, and configurations.
- Write and maintain procedures for regular data backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor database performance and availability, implementing strategies to maximize both.
- Design and implement effective indexing strategies to improve query performance.
- Configure, monitor, and deploy replica sets for high availability and fault tolerance.
- Manage user roles and permissions, ensuring appropriate access control and security.
- Optimize the insertion of large volumes of data into MongoDB.
- Experience with MongoDB’s aggregation framework for complex data analysis.
- Utilize MongoDB drivers for application integration.
- Explore and integrate with Big Data solutions such as Hadoop.
- Leverage DevOps automation tools like Puppet and Ansible for infrastructure management.
- Gain experience with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with other NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and Amazon DynamoDB is a plus.
Desired Competencies:
- Experience in the Health Insurance domain is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Previous experience on CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing.
- Familiarity with tools such as Odyssey, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Transporter, and GIT.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in MongoDB administration and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB’s aggregation framework.
- Experience with MongoDB drivers.
- Proven ability to optimize insertion of large data volumes.
- Experience with Big Data solutions like Hadoop.
- Experience with DevOps automation tools (Puppet, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable.
- Familiarity with other NoSQL databases (Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Expertise in performance tuning and availability management.
- Experience with replica set configuration and deployment.
- Proficiency in managing user roles and permissions.
Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience in MongoDB development and administration.
- 8-10 years of overall IT experience.
Location:
- Louisville, TN (Offshore – India requirement mentioned, but role is for US market based on location)
This role offers a competitive C2C rate of $50/hr and is a contract position.
