Role Overview: Senior .Net Developer
Sierra Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior .Net Developer for a long-term contract opportunity based in Indianapolis, IN. This role is specifically designated for local candidates who can work onsite and participate in a multi-stage interview process, including a final in-person round. With a requirement of over 10 years of professional experience, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in the Microsoft technology stack and a proven track record of delivering high-quality enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from initial requirements gathering and analysis to final design, development, and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with both technical and functional staff to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Ensure all development efforts align with agency standards, federal and state policies, and overarching project goals.
- Utilize object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques and industry best practices to design and develop scalable, maintainable code.
- Develop robust applications using the Microsoft .NET Framework, C# programming language, and supported MVC frameworks.
- Create and execute comprehensive unit testing strategies and plans to ensure code quality and minimize production defects.
- Work in tandem with Project Managers to maintain project timelines, meet critical milestones, and provide regular status updates.
- Prototype, refine, and debug programs in collaboration with end-users and technical teams to ensure the final product meets all functional needs.
- Maintain a high degree of independence, exercising sound judgment while working under general supervision.
- Integrate agency web application architecture and business decisions into every phase of the design process.
Technical Requirements and EDI Integration
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in .NET development.
- Expertise in C#, ASP.NET MVC, and the broader .NET ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of SQL and database design principles.
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is highly preferred, specifically in performing requirements analysis and documenting results for EDI and program teams.
- Ability to ensure accurate and appropriate file exchanges with external trading partners and resolve complex EDI data transmission conflicts.
- Provide helpdesk-level support for EDI claim transactions as needed.
- Experience working with external partners, such as the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), is a significant advantage.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
