Role Overview: Senior Network Administrator (Azure Focus)
iTech US, Inc is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Network Administrator with a specialized focus on Microsoft Azure cloud networking to join our client’s team in Burlington, MA. This is a critical onsite role that requires a professional capable of managing complex hybrid infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust network solutions that bridge on-premises data centers with cloud-based resources. As organizations increasingly migrate their workloads to the cloud, the role of the Network Administrator has evolved to require deep expertise in software-defined networking, virtual appliances, and cloud-native security protocols. This position offers a long-term contract opportunity for a technical expert who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Duties
- Manage daily Business-As-Usual (BAU) tasks including network diagnostics, performance monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Design and implement Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), ensuring optimal routing and connectivity across multiple regions.
- Configure and maintain Azure Site-to-Site VPNs and ExpressRoute circuits to provide secure, high-speed links between corporate offices and cloud environments.
- Administer network security through the configuration of Azure Firewalls, Palo Alto virtual appliances, and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Optimize network traffic using Azure Route Tables, Load Balancers, and Application Gateways to ensure high availability and low latency for critical applications.
- Perform deep-dive log analysis and network troubleshooting using tools like Azure Flow Logs and Network Watcher to identify and remediate connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to translate business requirements into technical network specifications.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network topology, IP addressing schemes, and security policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in implementing and managing Advanced Azure networks, specifically with ExpressRoute and Site-to-Site VPN technologies.
- Strong proficiency in core networking protocols including TCP/UDP, IP, DNS, NAT, and VLANs.
- Hands-on experience with firewall policy management and security rule orchestration in a hybrid cloud context.
- Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Expertise in network troubleshooting methodologies and the ability to interpret complex packet captures and system logs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional IT team.
This role is strictly onsite in Burlington, MA, and we are prioritizing local candidates who can commute to the office daily. The position requires a proactive individual who can take ownership of the network infrastructure and drive continuous improvement in security and performance. Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
