Job Summary
HMG America LLC is seeking a talented Network DevOps Engineer for a contract position located in Palo Alto, CA. This role requires 5 days onsite and involves executing network automation tasks across a multi-cloud footprint including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. You will be an integral part of the Network Infrastructure Services team, responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining standardized network modules to ensure our environment remains agile and secure. This is a contract role with an estimated duration of 6-12 months.
Scope of Work
- IaC Execution: Develop and maintain Terraform modules for provisioning multi-cloud network resources such as Transit Gateways, VNET Peering, Cloud Routers, and Load Balancers.
- Automated Provisioning: Build and troubleshoot Python scripts to automate routine network operations, including IPAM updates, DNS record management, and Firewall policy deployments.
- Multi-Cloud Connectivity: Standardize cross-cloud connectivity between AWS, GCP, Azure, and OCI using native cloud tools and VPN/Direct Connect configurations.
- Pipeline Support: Manage and fix CI/CD deployment pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions, for network infrastructure to ensure clean code merges and successful deployments.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Respond to internal infrastructure requests for VPC/VNET modifications, ensuring all changes adhere to the client’s “Network-as-Code” standards.
Technical Skills Required
- Experience: 3-5 years in Network DevOps or Cloud Networking.
- Cloud Environments: Hands-on experience configuring networking constructs in:
- AWS: VPC, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, Route53.
- Azure: VNET, NSG, Virtual WAN.
- GCP/OCI: Basic networking constructs (VCN, DRG, Shared VPC).
- The Toolkit:
- Terraform: Intermediate to Advanced proficiency, including state management and multi-provider blocks.
- Python: Strong scripting skills for API interaction (e.g., boto3, requests).
- Git: Daily proficiency with GitHub, including Pull Requests, branching strategies, and resolving merge conflicts.
- Networking Foundations: Solid understanding of BGP, routing tables, and L4/L7 firewalling principles.
