Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PeopleSoft Technical Consultant to join our dynamic team in New York. This is a long-term engagement requiring a blend of technical expertise in PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 and a strong understanding of procurement functionalities. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of professional experience in the IT sector, with a specific focus on PeopleSoft integrations and support for at least three years. This role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days of on-site presence in New York, with the potential to transition to a fully remote arrangement based on sustained performance and project needs. As a senior-level consultant, you will be expected to lead technical initiatives and provide mentorship to junior staff while ensuring the stability of critical enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support and maintenance for the PeopleSoft production system, specifically focusing on HR, Benefits, and Payroll modules to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Lead the integration of new PeopleSoft modules, including Time & Labor, eProcurement, Budget, and Financials, ensuring they align with organizational goals and architectural standards.
  • Deliver expert Oracle DBA support tailored for PeopleSoft applications, maintaining database integrity, performance tuning, and security compliance.
  • Execute complex PeopleSoft code customizations using PeopleTools and PeopleCode to meet specific business requirements and enhance system functionality.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and fixes (PUM), ensuring minimal downtime and robust system security through rigorous testing protocols.
  • Troubleshoot high-priority production issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams to implement effective resolutions and root cause analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth research into processing issues and develop data correction scripts to maintain data accuracy across all financial and human resource modules.
  • Support the full lifecycle of testing, implementation, and deployment activities for new features and system enhancements, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 is mandatory, with a deep understanding of the underlying data structures.
  • Strong proficiency in PeopleTools (8.5x or higher), PeopleCode, and Application Engine for batch processing.
  • Proven track record with Component Interface (CI), SQR, and XML / BI Publisher for complex reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with modern web technologies including JavaScript and jQuery to enhance the PeopleSoft Fluid user interface.
  • Demonstrated ability in Oracle DBA support specifically for PeopleSoft environments, including SQL optimization and table management.
  • Deep understanding of PeopleSoft Integrations (Integration Broker) and the ability to manage complex data flows between internal and external systems.
  • A minimum of 10 years of overall IT experience, with at least 3 years dedicated specifically to PeopleSoft integration and support.

Preferred Qualifications and Professional Impact

  • Strong preference for candidates with deep functional knowledge of the Procurement module and eProcurement workflows.
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments with strict deadlines and complex stakeholder requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid work model, demonstrating high levels of accountability.
  • Strategic thinking skills to anticipate system bottlenecks and propose proactive solutions that improve long-term system health.
  • Commitment to staying current with PeopleSoft’s continuous delivery model and emerging Oracle technologies.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
