Role Overview: QA Engineer (Windows BSP & Hardware Validation)
Vyze Inc is looking for a dedicated QA Engineer for a 100% onsite, 6-month contract position in Santa Clara, California. This role is focused on the testing and analysis of issues across internal and OEM configurations, ensuring CI/CD quality and compliance with rigorous OEM requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for device setup, automation development, and exploratory testing across multiple subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform device setup and configuration, including flashing builds onto boards and OEM devices.
- Configure UEFI, OS images, and Debugger settings for advanced debugging and crash dump collection.
- Install and validate SoC, GPU, and platform drivers to ensure system stability.
- Develop and execute automation tests for internal and OEM devices across functional, stress, power, and performance areas.
- Conduct exploratory testing to identify corner-case scenarios, leveraging expertise in various hardware subsystems.
- Triage internal and OEM bugs, track reproduction status, and collect logs/dumps to assist engineering teams in debugging.
- Collaborate with BSP, OEMQA, and automation teams to ensure timely validation and build readiness.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues.
- Prepare detailed test execution reports and communicate findings to the execution team.
- Ensure certification readiness for technologies such as USB4 and DP tunneling.
Required Skillset:
- Hands-on experience with Windows BSP (Board Support Package) testing and platform setup.
- Familiarity with UEFI flashing, KDNET debugging, and modern automation tools.
- Strong understanding of system power states, hibernate cycles, and modern standby functionality.
- Proficiency in bug triage, log analysis, and technical reporting.
- Prior experience with OEM device validation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for BSP builds and QA automation.
- Familiarity with high-speed interface protocols like USB4 and DisplayPort (DP) tunneling.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work onsite in a lab environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
