Role Overview: QA Lead (Remote USA)

TestingXperts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Lead to join our dynamic team in a long-term, remote capacity within the United States. As a QA Lead, you will be at the forefront of our Quality Engineering initiatives, driving excellence through advanced automation and strategic testing methodologies. This role is designed for a technical leader who is passionate about software quality and possesses the expertise to implement robust testing frameworks in a fast-paced, Agile environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that our digital products meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and security before they reach our global clientele.

Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact

  • Comprehensive Test Automation: Design and implement sophisticated automated testing strategies that support 100% test automation coverage across all levels of the software stack, including unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • CI/CD Integration: Configure, manage, and optimize quality gates within continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Your goal is to ensure that no defects progress through the delivery pipeline, maintaining a “zero-defect” mentality in production.
  • Agile Collaboration: Act as a key partner to Product Owners and Software Engineers within cross-functional Agile scrum teams. You will lead the definition of measurable and automatable acceptance criteria, ensuring that quality is “shifted left” in the development lifecycle.
  • Non-Functional Testing: Seamlessly integrate performance, security, and reliability testing into the automated delivery pipeline. This ensures that non-functional requirements are continuously verified and that the system remains resilient under various conditions.
  • Pipeline Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize test execution speed and reliability. You will work to eliminate bottlenecks in the CI/CD process, enabling rapid feedback loops for the development team.
  • SAFe Ceremonies: Actively participate in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) ceremonies, including Program Increment (PI) planning, iteration planning, and system demos. You will represent the quality engineering perspective and ensure alignment across multiple teams.
  • Advanced Analytics: Implement and maintain advanced test reporting and analytics dashboards. These tools will provide real-time quality insights and actionable data to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Collaborate closely with DevOps engineers to ensure that test environments, data management strategies, and infrastructure are fully optimized to support seamless automated testing.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Drive the continuous improvement of testing practices through regular retrospectives and knowledge-sharing sessions. You will mentor junior and mid-level engineers on Quality Engineering best practices and modern automation techniques.

Required Qualifications and Technical Expertise

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in software development lifecycles (SDLC) with a specific focus on Quality Engineering and automated testing. You should have a proven track record of leading QA teams in complex, project-based environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java is essential. You must have deep knowledge of database systems, API development, and message queue architectures.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a strong understanding of pipeline development for continuous testing.
  • Problem Solving: Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving abilities. You should be able to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications, including complex payment systems and financial platforms.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document complex technical processes and present quality metrics to diverse audiences.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in SAFe, Agile, Cloud technologies, or DevOps are considered a significant advantage.
