Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join our dynamic cybersecurity team in Peoria, IL. This critical role focuses on the implementation, management, and optimization of cloud-based security solutions, specifically targeting SaaS environments and web application protection. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of modern threat landscapes and the architectural expertise to defend complex cloud infrastructures. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model for candidates within a 150-mile radius of Peoria, provided they can travel to the office as required for collaborative sessions and critical project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and ongoing support for Radware SaaS cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) and API protection (cWAAP) solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of IT security code-based vulnerabilities to identify and mitigate potential exploits before they impact production environments.
- Integrate security assessments into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring that secure coding practices are followed from inception to deployment.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated Python and SQL scripts to automate security monitoring, incident response, and integration with Radware APIs and the Snowflake Data Platform.
- Perform rigorous IT risk and control assessments based on industry-standard frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and NIST 800-82.
- Collaborate with cross-functional DevOps and Engineering teams to architect secure AWS and Azure environments, ensuring compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of the OWASP Top Ten and other emerging application security threats, providing guidance and remediation strategies to development teams.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Information Security, with a focus on IT risk management and control assessments.
- Proven expertise in Radware cWAAP or similar enterprise-grade Web Application Firewall tools.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience managing security within broad AWS and Azure ecosystems.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python and SQL, for security automation and data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of information security frameworks including ISO 27001/27002 and NIST standards.
- Solid understanding of Application Life-Cycle Management (ALM) and secure software development principles.
- Experience with Snowflake Data Platform integration is considered a significant bonus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex security risks into actionable business insights.
Special Requirements
Relocation will work. Candidates must be within 150 miles of Peoria, IL or willing to travel to Peoria as needed.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
