Overview of the Senior Healthcare Business Analyst Role
This is an urgent and critical requirement for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong specialization in the healthcare domain. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in Hartford, Connecticut, with a hybrid work model requiring three days of in-office presence. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant software application delivery projects for a major client, CVS/Tech Mahindra. We are seeking a proactive, critical-thinking individual who can drive initiatives forward and collaborate effectively across various functional and technical teams. The role demands a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and a proven track record in delivering high-quality documentation and solutions within complex healthcare IT environments.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Lead and actively participate in epic and feature discovery and refinement sessions, meticulously identifying requirements and potential gaps in existing systems.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Business Operations Leads, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Independently determine next steps for complex tasks and drive work streams forward to meet established objectives and deadlines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process and data flow diagrams to clearly articulate both technical and business requirements.
- Communicate effectively and precisely with developers and other IT teams, ensuring clarity, understanding, and seamless execution of technical specifications.
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation for all technical and business processes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed field-level mapping spreadsheets and related documentation, crucial for data integrity and system integration.
- Apply a foundational understanding of programming concepts, coupled with strong knowledge of API usage, documentation standards, data formats, testing tools, and implementation best practices.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, essential for clear and effective engagement with all levels of stakeholders, from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Act as an engaged team member, consistently demonstrating critical thinking, proactive communication, and active contribution to overall team objectives and success.
Required Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience as a Business Analyst, with a specific focus on software application delivery within the healthcare sector. A proven ability to navigate and contribute to large-scale Agile programs is essential, including familiarity with 3-month planning cycles and 2-week sprint execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong capability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and a track record of leading discovery and refinement sessions. Furthermore, expertise in creating detailed process and data flow diagrams, along with proficiency in communicating technical requirements to development teams, is paramount. A foundational understanding of programming concepts and strong knowledge of API usage, documentation standards, data formats, testing tools, and implementation practices are also critical for success.
Educational Background
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. This academic foundation will provide the necessary theoretical knowledge to complement the extensive practical experience demanded by this role.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Candidates with prior experience in Secure Messaging systems will be highly regarded. Additionally, any experience with building AI Agents will be considered a significant advantage, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach and adaptability to emerging technologies within the healthcare IT landscape. These skills will enable the candidate to contribute to innovative solutions and stay ahead of industry trends.

Compensation & Location
