Role Overview: Senior UX Designer
We are looking for a seasoned Senior UX Designer to join our team in Mountain View, CA. This role is designed for a subject matter expert who can work independently while significantly contributing to team outcome metrics. With a minimum of 12 years of experience, you will be expected to lead complex design initiatives, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed user expectations. You will be responsible for explaining and ensuring the understanding of design processes both within the team and across other functions, dealing with technical and often complicated information exchanges to drive successful product outcomes.
Core Responsibilities and Design Craft
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of design principles, methods, and tools to contribute new ideas to the overall design direction.
- Utilize industry-standard design software at an advanced level to create high-fidelity prototypes and final designs.
- Govern the application of design systems within patterns and frameworks, suggesting improvements to enhance consistency and usability.
- Adopt an end-to-end (E2E) thinking approach, considering the entire user journey from pre-product to post-product experiences.
- Synthesize customer and market insights, including competitor teardowns and existing research, to ground all design work in specific customer problems.
- Collaborate with data partners to enhance user experience through data fluency, designing personalized experiences under given constraints.
- Lead small teams in data-informed design strategies, using metrics to guide decisions and advocate for high-impact solutions.
- Build strong partnerships with PM, PD, Legal, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to establish a shared vision and clear goals.
- Confidently present and defend design ideas to stakeholders, using clear narratives and context setting to influence team-level decisions.
- Advocate for solutions with significant business impact, setting success metrics for your craft and prioritizing work based on impact.
Strategic Impact and Technical Acumen
In this role, you will demonstrate exceptional skill in working with patterns and component configurations, creating reusable and accessible designs that leverage existing capabilities. Your strategic impact will be felt as you apply design and systems thinking to achieve team goals, identifying where your craft can have the most significant impact for both customers and the business. You must be comfortable crafting non-leading interview scripts and user tests, interpreting metrics to make informed decisions, and pivoting strategies based on the Voice of the Customer (VOC). This position requires a professional who can navigate the intricacies of a platform mindset while maintaining a relentless focus on user satisfaction and operational excellence.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $190,000 – $260,000 per year (Estimated)
