Job Title: Solr Admin
Location: Remote (Hybrid 3 days in NY)
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Solr Admin to design, implement, and maintain scalable search solutions. This role involves optimizing search performance, integrating Solr with other systems, and ensuring the reliability of our search infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and efficient search capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable search solutions using Apache Solr.
- Develop and maintain Solr schemas, configurations, and custom analyzers.
- Optimize search performance and relevance through tuning and query rewriting.
- Integrate Solr with other systems and APIs, such as RESTful services.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Solr clusters and indexing pipelines.
- Collaborate with data engineers, backend developers, and product managers.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for search architecture and configurations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with Apache Solr and search technologies (e.g., Lucene, Elasticsearch).
- Proficiency in Java and experience with JVM tuning.
- Strong understanding of indexing strategies, tokenization, and relevance tuning.
- Experience with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation.
- Exposure to e-commerce or high-volume data environments.
- Understanding of Linux system administration and performance tuning.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $70 per hour (Estimated)
