Role Overview

Accrete Macro Solutions LLC is seeking a highly seasoned Sr. AWS Redshift Developer for a critical 6-month contract engagement. This remote position requires a minimum of 14 years of professional experience in data engineering and cloud architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of complex data ecosystems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability within an AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Design: Architect and implement robust, end-to-end data pipelines that facilitate the seamless flow of information from disparate sources into AWS Redshift.
  • ETL/ELT Development: Build, maintain, and optimize sophisticated ETL and ELT processes using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Performance Optimization: Conduct deep-dive performance tuning of Redshift clusters, including the management of distribution keys, sort keys, and workload management (WLM) configurations.
  • Data Quality & Reliability: Implement automated validation frameworks to monitor data quality, ensuring that all downstream analytics are based on accurate and consistent datasets.
  • Cloud Platform Management: Oversee the management of cloud infrastructure, focusing on cost optimization, security protocols, and the integration of Redshift with other AWS services like S3, Athena, and IAM.

Technical Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate mastery over the AWS ecosystem, specifically focusing on Redshift RA3 instances, Spectrum, and Concurrency Scaling. A deep understanding of SQL optimization, Python scripting for data processing, and experience with modern data modeling techniques (Star/Snowflake schemas) is essential. Given the 14-year experience requirement, we expect a candidate who has evolved through the era of traditional RDBMS into modern cloud-native data warehousing.

As a senior-level consultant, you will be expected to provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to translate business objectives into technical specifications. You must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fully remote setting while maintaining high productivity standards.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $95 – $135 per year (Estimated)
