Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Data Platform Engineering team in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a high-impact role where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the CI/CD infrastructure for our integrated Data Fabric platform. This platform is a strategic core asset that underpins the operational success of our firm, handling massive volumes of data and supporting critical business functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of infrastructure as code, cloud-native technologies, and the unique challenges of managing data-intensive environments in a modern enterprise setting.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly efficient CI/CD pipelines for both software development and infrastructure deployment using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
  • Manage and deploy key data systems and services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across the Data Fabric platform.
  • Collaborate closely with cloud engineers, data engineers, and architects to identify opportunities for leveraging DevOps technologies in large-scale data processing.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources.
  • Develop and troubleshoot a diverse range of technical problems, from OS-level scripting to complex cloud architecture issues.
  • Optimize application performance and reliability through the implementation of advanced monitoring and automation tools.
  • Integrate cutting-edge AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Claude, into DevOps workflows to enhance automation and developer productivity.
  • Lead the adoption of containerization technologies, including Docker, Amazon ECS, and Kubernetes, to streamline application deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 14 years of professional experience in engineering, with at least 10 years dedicated to DevOps engineering.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for complex CI/CD automation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Minimum of 5 years of deep AWS Cloud experience, specifically with Lambda, EC2, VPC, and IAM.
  • Experience with big data platforms and services, such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Spark, and AWS Glue.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python and OS-level scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
  • Demonstrated experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Familiarity with data engineering, ETL processes, and data analysis workflows.

The role is based in Boston, MA, and requires being onsite 4 days a week to facilitate close collaboration with the engineering and data teams. Compensation & Location

Salary: $190,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
